Barb Stegemann

CEO, The 7 Virtues Beauty Inc.

Barb Stegemann first launched her perfume company, The 7 Virtues, out of her garage, armed with only a dream to help war-ridden nations rebuild. Fast Forward and now it’s an award-winning social enterprise — supporting suppliers in countries such as Afghanistan, Haiti, and Rwanda — and ranked the #1 selling clean perfume at Sephora USA and Canada.

A newsmaker, Barb has been featured in several media outlets from Vogue to CNN. Profit magazine ranked her as one of Canada’s top 30 “Cool and Fabulous Entrepreneurs” and Real Leaders magazine ranked her among their “Top 40 Women Keynote Speakers of 2020.” Barb first became known to millions of Canadians when she landed a venture-capital deal on CBC’s Dragons’ Den — the first woman from Atlantic Canada to do so. She went on to become the “Top Game Changer” in the history of the show.

Barb is also the author of the bestselling book, The 7 Virtues of a Philosopher Queen, and the subject of the feature-length, award-winning documentary Perfume War, available on iTunes. She is also honoured to be the first female honorary colonel in the history of 14 Wing Greenwood of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Before we bring Barb on, let’s watch the trailer for her documentary film, Perfume War.
